F.A.Q.

What age group would my child play in?

U6: Born between Aug 1, 2005-July 31, 2007

U8: Born between Aug. 1, 2003-July 31, 2005

U10: Born between Aug. 1, 2001-July 31, 2003

Can my child play in a different age group?

It is recommended that your child play in his/her age group. He/she definitely can not play in a lower age group. If your child has special needs, then we can discuss the situation.

When can my child play travel?

The first age group to travel is at the U10 level born between Aug. 1, 2001-July 31, 2002. If there are roster spots still available then players younger can play up.

What is travel? Where do we travel to?

At the travel level, it would be an all Hopewell team competing against other clubs. Where you travel would depend on the other teams in the division. You can travel up to an hour.

How long is the season?

Our season is for 8 weeks. The spring season will start on April 14..

When and where are games played?

Our in house games are played on Sat. morning and our travel games are played on Sun afternoon.

Our field location is on Service Creek Rd, the left past the Green Garden Plaza.

What is the cost to play?

Registration fee is $65 for in-house, $65 for travel.
What does my child need to play?

Your child would need a reversible shirt available thru the club for $15. This shirt never changes so if you have one from a previous child it will be fine. Your child will also need shin guards, socks to cover up the shin guards and soccer cleats.

Does my child need a ball?

It is recommended so they have a ball to practice with. U6-U8 use a size 3 ball, U10-U12 use a size 4 ball, all others use a size 5 ball.

When are practices?

Your child’s coach determines what night practice is on. They normally run for an hour one day a week.

Can I request a coach/ or a teammate?

A request can be made BUT may not always be honored.  Requests are not taken at the U10 level.

Can I become a coach?/What do I need to do?

Yes, coaches are always needed. On the registration form, put your name down on the appropriate section with your info. Also, all coaches need to have clearances, which can be done by following this website: https://ssl.hammersoccer.com/pawkidsafe/RiskUser.asp The clearances are good for 2 years. Copy of act 33/34 clearances are also accepted.
